I call him “Boone” because this truck looks tough. Boone went through a little bit of work since I literally pulled it out of a storage barn. The first thing I did was a tune up (oil change, grease, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs) including a new fuel pump. I replaced the old split rims with polished ion 16×8 wheels and 315/75R16 cooper STT Pros. I also had the seat professionally reupholstered and replaced the carpet. A custom steering wheel ties in the vintage headliner and the black seat. The cab to door weather stripping was replaced as well. The previous owner told me he treasured this rig for the last 25 years. He explained that the original owner did a little customization by giving the sequoia brown truck a tu-tone look. He also had the headliner and sun visors custom upholstered. It screams 1970s and I love it. The original owner put in a 428 in place of the original 360. In 2001, the previous owner had the 428 professionally rebuilt by a local speed shop. Odometer reads 95,400 and I’m told that is original mileage. The truck runs and drives great with power steering. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts just as it should with a good feeling clutch. The gear ratio is 4.10 in the Dana 60 rear end. The Interior of the bed tells a story of how gently the truck was used through its years. It did come with a color matched bed cap, which will go with the truck. The original fuel tank remains behind the seat including two additional dealer installed saddle tanks. All gauges work as they should. Please feel free to ask questions that I may not have answered.
